Despite the rise of online shopping, “Black Friday” appears to maintain its stronghold in the cultural vernacular. In fact, “Black Friday” had more than 6x the mentions than “Cyber Monday.”

Over 15k podcasts mentioned “Black Friday” nearly 28k times between October 28 and November 27. The median PowerScore for podcasts mentioning “Black Friday” came out to 66.
What Happened: “Cyber Monday” Mentions in Detail
Nearly 2500 podcasts mentioned “Cyber Monday.” And they did so more than 5000 times. The median PowerScore for podcasts mentioning “Cyber Monday” hit a robust 69.
What Happened: Which Brands Dominated BFCM Discourse?
In observing both paid and organic mentions of brands throughout podcasts discussing “Black Friday” or “Cyber Monday,” a few winners emerged.
Bartesian and Walmart had the highest association with BFCM discourse. It’s an interesting conclusion as the former represents the direct-to-consumer, e-commerce trend, while the latter has perhaps the strongest representation of legacy brick and mortar BFCM madness.
Podcast advertising mainstays like Shopify, BetterHelp, VGW, and Mint Mobile also made their presence felt throughout BFCM mentions.
